Sand City Brewing Co. Lindenhurst NY (2025 - Ongoing)
We go beyond the label to ask a simple question: who are the people behind the beer? Moving past the polished surface of branding and ritual, the work centers on the brewers themselves—their presence, their labor, and the subtle ways personality reveals itself through gesture and routine. Within the heat, texture, and repetition of the brew house, individuality persists, shaping both process and outcome. These images focus on the quiet, often unseen moments where concentration, instinct, and care intersect. What remains is not just the product, but a deeper recognition of the people whose work makes it possible.
Brew House is an intimate exploration of labor — physical, intellectual, and creative. Brewing is often romanticized, but in reality it is rigorous work. It is heat and steam. It is lifting, cleaning, measuring, calibrating. It is long hours spent monitoring a process that cannot be rushed. In photographing these spaces, I was drawn to the choreography of movement: the turn of a valve, the weight of soaked grain, the quiet inspection of a gauge. These gestures are as expressive as any portrait.
